Found objects: speakers, turntable, contact microphone, and candle
The work consists of a turntable in contact with melted candle wax on its surface, with a contact microphone connected to the turntable itself. Through a pair of stereo speakers, the system amplifies the sounds produced by friction, as well as the mechanical operation of the device.
The speakers and turntable were found on the street as discarded materials. In this sense, the assemblage reflects on the disposal of electronic equipment and on the latent potential of such devices, regardless of whether they are classified as high or low technology.
